Ubaidulla Saleem

Mawlanna Ubaidulla Saleem graduated from Darul Uloom Deoband with top honors in 1990.  He has been teaching the Shariah program at IIE since 1991.  He has taught many of today’s young scholars in Chicago.  Mufti Ehzaz mentioned that he “resembles his father, Mawlana Abdullah Saleem, in so many ways.  Many of the Chicago Ullama and Huffaz have the honor of being his student.”

He earned authorizations (Ijazah) in several Islamic Sciences, including but not limited to the Arabic language, exegesis of the Holy Qur’an (tafsir), Hadith and jurispudence (Fiqh) from Shaykh Anzer Shah (son of Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri), Mawlana Muhammad Salim (the great grandson of the father of Deoband), Shaykhul Hadith Mawlana Muhammad Naeem (the father of Mawlana Abdullah Saleem) and Mawlana Raza Ali Bijnori (a prominent disciple of Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri). He has been serving the community in carious capacities including motivating young children to memorize the Qur’an, delivering Friday sermons and other lectures across the Chicagoland area. Currently he is the principal of the Institute of Islamic Education and holds classes in the Shariah program in Tafseer, Hadith, Arabic and Fiqh.
